Our philosophy
In August 8th 1786 two Chamonix residents, Dr. Michael G. Paccard and his guide Jacques Balmat became the first people to ascent the summit of Mont Blanc (15,781 feet), unofficially sparking modern mountaineering. This climb marked the beginning of alpinism. Through the years, climbers conquered the highest summits in the Alps and then spread alpinism to the rest of the planet.
Our philosophy is to bring to our clients the knowledge and the experience that only a certified IFMGA/AMGA mountain guide has to offer, and of course, to enjoy the day safely in the mountains under our guidance. We value the personal relationships that we form with our clientele. Our groups are very small, which gives us time to work together to reach your goal, whether it be on rock, ice or snow, we will help you to get there!
We work constantly to maintain and upgrade our own skills and certifications, either with the transition to new climbing equipment or with the development of new guiding techniques. We are in constant contact with the AMGA, AEGM and IFMGA for the latest updates in protocols for guiding and new guidelines to keep ourselves and our clients safe.
As a writer, José keeps climbers up-to-date in safety techniques and new protocol through his technical articles published in Barrabes magazine. Check it out here! http://www.barrabes.com/actualidad/actualidad.asp
